Pat fished the AC TOC yesterday didnot do that great bite was tough. He seems to be in good spirts. he asked me to tell everyone that appreciates everyones good wishes and prayers. They mean a lot to him. He will be leaving for UCLA Wednesday to begin treatment. I will keep you posted keep the prayers coming.Vern

Pat's appointment is Thursday morning at UCLA.

Pat, great to see you and that crazy azz partner of yours. I will
tell you all Pat looks great and is in great spirit. You would never
know that bug has a hold on him right now.
You seem to be as onary as ever which we love. Anyway Pat it

Pat faces a pretty good operation as soon as they can get it scheduled, approx 30 days. The Doc is awesome and has done a lot, like 2000 of these operations. They will remove the cancer from his throat all the way down into his lungs. They will problay have to break his collar bones. High percentage of fighting through this.

The doc was amazed at his phyical condition. Pat is 72 last Friday.

GREAT SPIRITS and with this news he's headed to Lake Mead this weekend for a tournament.

This news MADE MY DAY!!!!!

pat, i dont know you. but im amazed at you spirt. and im so very happy to hear your still feeling well enough to do some fishing. from the replys to this post your a well respected man. and have many friends and other's pulling for you.... i too had a battle with cancer in june of 09. i lost my left kidney due to a 12 centemeter cancerous tumor, the had to cut one of my ribs way back to get the kidney out. i had 1 year of follow up cancer meds, and im doing well, and fishing like crazy now.... so keep up the positive attitude, this is something you can and WILL beat.... i came within 3 months of them, not being able to operate on me.. so it almost got me, but i went in with a positive attitude and it worked out for me... im praying for you to fully recover from this horrible disease.. of course its a scarry thing to go thru, but wth the support of friends and family, this will be a great motivation for you to get well.. and dont forget the big bass waiting for you too... blessings to you phil

We are praying for you Pat up here in Nor Cal. Truely one of the greats of our sport. Pat is one of the greatest people you will ever meet. Always smiling and encouraging others to do well. You know how to WIN buddy. This will be another trophy on your mantle!

Hear is an up date on Pat. He has been hear in Vegas taking test getting ready to go to UCLA for surgery. The hold up has been his insurance is slow approving the test. He seeme to be in great spirits. As soon as he leaves for California I will let every one know. Vern
