Painting a rod?

Post by resqd1 »

I am wondering if anyone knows of a material you could use to paint a rod and it would not crack or brake off when the rod is flexed. Thanks.

I believe the builders are using Krylon spray paint. Some guys are using rust-oleum, "specialty Plastic". 2-3 light coats. Then cover blank with permagloss.

But if you go to Rodbuilding.org they have a forum and you can search for the info. Try "painting blank".

dang it you stole my idea, sounds like reading through the stuff on rod building site the paint actually changes the rods action and weight quite a bit, guess there is no way to darken up a bright rod without adding weight to it.
