I bet this question has been asked.... What transducer is best for Bass fishing lakes delta and so forth? Thanks in advance. Scott

200 khz for shallow water, 0 - let's say 40 feet and then switch to 83 khz for water over 40 feet deep. The 200 will have more coverage area and great detail in shallow water and the 83 khz has a narrower coverage but better detail in deeper water.

The formula to determine how much of the bottom you are looking at while in 200 khz is; Take the depth, divide by 5 and take that sum and multiply by 2, this is approximately the coverage of the bottom. Example, 20 feet deep, divide by 5 = 4 X 2 = 8 feet of the bottom is covered in 20 feet.
