Ultimate Bass University with Clear Lake Guide Ross England.

Post by kb »

It was great to see so many of our regular Ultimate Bass University attendees at the ISE show in January but now it is time to get back into the swing of our monthly fish catching and learning sessions.

Just a few weeks ago on Westernbass.com someone asked the question “Who spends the most time on Clear Lake?” The answer was almost unanimous Ross England from Clear Lake Guide Service. That got us to thinking that he would be the perfect guest speaker for February’s Ultimate Bass University since springtime fishing on Clear Lake is on the horizon for most bass anglers.

Not only is Ross the top guide on Clear Lake he is an accomplished tournament angler of over 25 years and has qualified for numerous TOC’s and has won many Angler of the Year titles. Ross also qualified for two Red Man All American Tournaments back in the Operation Bass Days….(that was before FLW)….

Ross will cover all seasons and techniques on Clear Lake at this month’s Ultimate Bass University so don’t miss out. The free class begins at 6:30 on Tuesday night February 15th. We will have food and drinks and our usual great raffle. Gone Fishin Marine is located in Dixon, CA.

Bring a friend and don’t forget Valentine’s Day on Monday the 14th, we would hate for so many of our regulars to be grounded for such a good class……

Any chance we could get this taped for Western Bass TV. I have fished Clear Lake with Ross and was quite impressed with his knowledge and character. Being a So Cal guy, well you know.

Rich I have not had the classes taped for a couple of reasons and for those of you that live too far away to make it on a Tuesday night it would be nice. We do the classes to generate traffic, sales and service for Gone Fishin Marine and if someone could log on and watch instead of making it down to GF Marine then attendance drops off, without the folks showing up the class would eventually go away. The large numbers of attendees asking questions and participating in the Ultimate Bass University class is what has made it so successful. The attendees showing up for their service, parts, tackle and boat purchases is what has kept Gone Fishin Marine doing the classes, staying open late and organizing for every class.

There is a pretty large monthly investment in putting the class on from both Ultimate Bass and Gone Fishin Marine and the raffle usually offers several hundred dollars of free product.

Hope you guys understand and know that we are trying to bring you great info, get you excited about going to a new lake and give you a home for your boating and tackle needs. I hope you guys from out of the area understand and if you are ever in the area on the third Tuesday of the month I hope you will stop in and join us.

Hope to see all of you on Tuesday night

Great class tonight and lots of info. Great to see all the new faces there. It seems that at least half the people won some sort of raffle prize. Took three pages of notes that I hope to use someday soon.
Thanks to all the make this happen.
