HDS7 Advice

I have finally saved enough $$ to purchase a HDS7 with SS. Here's my newbe questions, where to purchase and how difficult is the installation. Is this something that adverage Joe can do himself? Is there a local dealer on the central coast between Paso and Santa Barbara or am I just as well ording from BPS?
