Decided to give the local lake a try today since I had the day off anyway. Launched at 6:00 AM. Started out trying some swimbaits on points, and flats for no love. (They are supposed to do the first plant soon I hear) Tried some jerks & cranks for a couple small bass around 1.5 - 2# also on points, and drop offs. Then I went to the familiar old DS rig. Landed my biggest fish of the day a slim 5 pounder. The weather looked perfect, but the fish weren't cooperating very well. Got nothing on jigs or spoons. Hopefully the winter bite will kick in. The lake is REALLY low, and terrain has changed a lot. Tought fishing, but still a great lake to have right around the corner!!

Did I see you out there yesterday, Kelly? I thought so, but every time I was going to stop by, and check the fisherman on the blue & white boat was intensely fishing points, and I didn't want to disturb.

Wasn't me Saul....I'll be there Saturday though. Thanks for the report. See any shad other than on your meter? Prolly what those mid water colum early bass on the cranks are up for. My champ is red white and blue...Capt. America....

I saw shad on top a couple times, but only when a bass chased them up. Other than that the bass were between 7 & 25 feet, and the shad were in the 15 - 20 foot range. I may see you out there Saturday if I don't have help clean the house. Wednesday was great on the water. Only about 7 boats all day. I'll look for you if I'm there. Look for you? ha ha ha ha I'll be following you!
