Results for today's NBW event at Diamond Valley Lake

Post by Lynne »

1/15/2012 Diamond Valley

With 56 teams, weather was cold, colder, rainy, warmer, windy, then super cold...
Congrats to Guy and Jason for a win on a super tough day for most anglers. Diamond Valley proved to be a bit more difficult today however using drop shot, Guy and Jason overcame the challege and managed to bring in a limit of bass weighing 17.98# with the third biggest bass of the event for $3,562.50 in winnings. Total payout overall was $13, 235.

Check us out on facebook also for photos of the event.

Additionally, we will be starting our "lower entry series for Last Chance Bait and Tackle" starting on February 4, 2012. IF you personallly (after you split your winnings with your partner) have not made more than $2,500 from last February 1st to this January 31st (AT DIAMOND VALLEY LAKE only) than you CAN fish these lower entry events. The basic entry is $120 with an additional $50 in options available.) Any questions, please me at 760-497-8238 or call Megan at Last Chance Bait and Tackle at 951-658-7410)

Next weekend, National Bass West will be at Lake Havasu for our regular team event. Not busy, come join in the fun of catching LOTS of big small mouth bass...

You know Paul it is the craziest thing. This past Saturday, Mike and I ran an event at El Capitan where the winners weighed in 22.33# (with a big bass of 6.13#)

on Sunday (today) we ran an event at Diamond Valley Lake where the winners weighed in a limit of bass weighing 17.98# (big bass weighing 5.44)

Last year around this same time of year (2 weeks later) we ran events at El Capitan and Diamond Valley Lake.

The weights at El Capitan was 16.78# (big bass weighing 3.83#) and at

Diamond Valley Lake the winning team weighed in a limit of bass weighing 30.79# (big bass weighing 10.53#!)

Hard to know why the switch! Just interesting to see the difference and how El Capitan has really taking off this past year.

Just some things to consider...... Quaggas in El Cap, fishing gets way better since. Stripers taking over DVL, largemouth bite suffers, ala Castaic Lake. But the biggest difference from last year is max water level at DVL. Nowhere to hide last year for the green dudes. Rick G.
