Which Cumara would you recommend for a jig rod? Thanks

Depends on the size jig, line class and cover you plan to fish. The CUCX72MH is a good all around jig rod. We make the CUC74H for heavier cover and heavier jigs (3/4-1). I like the CUC72MH for 3/8-1/2 ounce jigs in light cover with 12#.

Thanks for your help.I have the CUC 72MH and am thinking of ordering a CUCX72MH. I know the X means extra fast. Please explain to me in layman's [dummy's] terms what exactly the difference in fast and extra fast. Which part of the rod does this involve?

This is the action of the rod, so the rod will start to shut off faster with an Extra Fast action. It will feel stiffer when you bend the rod. Does that make sense?
