"Wisconsin discriminates against tournament anglers"?

Post by Brian D. »

I think the state of Wisconsin discriminates against tournament anglers. - Don Barone, Bassmaster Writer

And they say the State of California is messed up.. Interesting read from the BASS Elite Series

Once a tournament is part of a money making enterprise, it is subject to the rules, regulations, and controls that whichever state involved imposes.
Ask any tournament organization in Calif. about the hoops they have to jump through, as opposed to recreational fishermen.
Money making contest is the key difference. A business has to operate under different rules than an individual.
Changing the rules after the permit is issued is bogus, if that's what happened.
But if B.A.S.S. agreed ahead of time to abide by whatever rules the Wisconsin DFG decided to impose, then they are stuck with whatever rules are imposed.

I guess they don't want these Elite Angler's pounding the fish in Sturgeon Bay for what ever reason. I doubt B.A.S.S will ever be back after this. They had to spring this on them afterward's or they would not have scheduled this event wouldnt you think. But maybe Wisonsin doesnt even care if they are there.
