Need to have 1991 150 XP checked out. It's not getting up to top RPMs and speed at WOT. Any recommendations in either area?
Thanks in Advance. (Need to update my sig!!! )

Try Calvin at the old Oasis Dealership just north of Redding. It's called something else now, Redding Yamaha or something, but Calvin's the dude that can look at your boat. None better IMHO.

Thanks, Mark, I don't know where that was. There's a Shasta Yamaha but I don't know if it's the place you're referencing...they don't show a service department. Can you tell me what street the Oasis dealer was on?

Re: Evinrude Tech in Redding or Chico?
Thanks, all. I did a search and Calvin's name came up repeatedly, but the last one was in 2010, I think, and it was from Gary Dobbins. Good to see Calvin's still around and has such a great reputation.
Have been gone from this board for several years but just picked up a new-to-me Javalin F/S with a 150XP Evinrude. Want to have the impeller changed and performance checked out. At WOT I got to 45 mph at 3900 RPM. Had an outstanding hole shot but seems like it ought to have a little more top end left. Could prop make that much difference? (Load was 225 lbs of my lard butt and ~24 gallons of fuel.)
I welcome any opinions on my boat's performance and thanks for the referral to Calvin.
(still need to change my sig line)

They're on Twin View Blvd. between the Record Searchlight and Oasis Road. (530) 275 7300 is their number. Calvin is Definitely the man
Props definitely make a difference. The comment you made about having a great hole shot but only getting 3900 rpm on the top end makes me think you might want to have your tach checked to make sure its reading right. Once you know all is good mechanicaly with your rig give Chris up at Phils prop a call, He'll get you dialed in as far as your prop.
