What bait is going to win the U.S. open this year?
Just curious to get some feedback as to what bait will be the winning bait or baits this year.
Jig?
Rip Bait?
Rico?
Spook?
Senko?
I can't wait to fish the U.S. open this year. The 30th anniversary is something special. Lots of raffle prizes will be at this one (so I heard). Remember the early bird sign up deadline is July 31st!! Get off the fence and get signed up!!!!

The 1 you didn't list; the lowly worm that Aaron Martens is using.

It'll take more than one bait. I'm thinking three. Heck I would only take 4-5 to pre-fish with.
Drop shot (RoboWorm), ProLine Jig, Lucky Craft Topwater, Phenix Spinnerbait, maybe a Senko; Dobyn's Rods and Shimano Reels, Trilene Fluorocarbon Line and Samari Braid

I'm thinking it will be a combination of topwater like a gunfish, drop shot and jig
Re: What bait is going to win the U.S. open this year?
Jjgging spoon? Just kidding I would guess a topwater walking bait.

Re: What bait is going to win the U.S. open this year?
It is not a question about what bait might, but what bait will. Go back a few short weeks ago to the Lucas oil/ABA open event. What did the winner use then, to walk away with the $40,000 first place? What about the bait that caught the big fish and won the Ranger Bass Boat. Great starting baits!
Looking forward to the US OPEN, how can any angler forget about the new standards, like the 6 inch BBZ trout with Bill behind the rod, or maybe that new 4 inch red ringworm thrown by Kramer, on his signature dart head?
Keeping it in the BBZ

Whatever bait D. Yamamoto is throwing should do the trick! Cunn, Klien and Rojas will all have to fight off Kramer for there favorite spots.
My $$$ is on Yamamoto or Mackey

Kramer has fished Mead longer than most of the other Pros around, and may even have taught a few how to catch them….flat out knows the water and knows the baits. Don’t know for sure if Mr. BBZ is going to fish the Open. I hope so; it will open some eyes when he picks up his check!

Are you kidding me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!BBZ can kisss my ***!!!!!!!!!!!!!!What more can I say!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Throw what you have Confidence in,!!!!!!!!!!!!
Re: What bait is going to win the U.S. open this year?
it depends on wind and weather at Mead. But a super spook, Spinner bait, Jig and a worm to finish off the limit should be the right combo this year.
