Mike,

I make several great hud rods. 806 HSB, 806 ML SB, 807 Mag HSB, 867 Mag HSB Just depends on your rod length....also handle length, and power rating. You can always call us at 530-671-1989 and we can talk all the differences. Thanks.

Check out the Powell 711 SBRH. It will handle all of your larger swimbait and wakebaits. It will take a lot of the fatigue out of throwing those larger baits.

I would prefer the dobyns 807 or 867. I have the 867 and i love it. Very easy to cast the hudd

I have the Okuma Guide Select 7'11" Extra Heavy swimbait rod. It's a pretty stout rod, but it launches those big baits like nothing. It's also more affordable compared to many other swimbait rods.

Without question the Dobyns 867 is the best swimbait rod I have ever used for casting/fishing 8 inch Huds and similar baits. The Okuma Guide Select series (the H or XH will both work) will give you bang-for-your-buck if you're looking for an entry level rod.

check out the Phenix Ultra Swimbait rod. Absolutely one of the best I've used.

Dobyns 806SBML !!!! Light weight and sensitive. Long handle makes it easy to cast the Hudd.

I have a Dobyns 806 HSB brand new. Still has plastic wrap on handle and tag hanging on guide. Never fished. Make me a reasonable offer.
