Need a marine mechanic in Tracy area

Post by gomester »

Not sure if this is the right area to post this so my apologies if not.
About to purchase a pre-owned boat but want to get checked out by a reputable mechanic first (i.e.: compression, transom, engine, etc). I checked with a local shop and they are slammed until late next week.
Does anybody know of a stand-up place or sole mechanic that I can either bring to or they can come down to (would pay for their time of course) to give it a once-over. It is a Yamaha 150 Pro-v. Year is 1995 and on a viper.
Want to try and get this done this week if possible. Otherwise, I can just take to the shop late next week.
Thanks.

Any of these guys offer mobile service or would it strictly need to be hauled to their place of business?

There is a reason these guys are still booked solid in the winter when other shops are slow.. They are the best! They also do alot to keep us Bass fishermen on the water. If you can wait, its worth it.

Thanks everybody for your input. I got an awesome mechanic to come down and look at the boat onsite. This guy really knew his stuff and the shop he works for just got themselves a lifelong customer.
Best money I ever spent!
