Elite-7 HDI

Post by cabassr »

Does anybody know if Elite-7 HDI is sold anywhere already? There are "independent" reviews out there but I can't seem to find it on sale.

The units will not ship from Lowrance until mid to late January.

Will this unit be on display at the Lowrance booth at the Sac. Sportsmans Expo?

I would expect to see it at the booth. I don't put the display together but I'll see if I can make a request to be sure there is one there.

I am thinking of purchasing the new Elite 7 DSI unit for the console and an Elite 5X DSI for the bow. If I want the down scan do I also need to buy an add on module to operate it? How many units can be hooked up to one module?

Thank you.

Both of the units you are going to purchase have their own transducers that give you the Down Scan image as the sonar option. There is no Broadband Sonar on the Elite 5x DSI, only the Down Scan Image. If you have any questions please come by the Lowrance booth at the ISE in Sacramento so you will get the correct units that will meet your expectations. See you all there.

Sorry, I'm located in Los Angeles. Won't be able to make it to Sacto for the show. Okay, so the Elite 5 DSI doesn't have broadband sonar, so in order to get the broadband sonar, along with down scan imaging, I will need to purchase two Elite 7's, correct?

I fish club tournaments once per month. Do I really need GPS on the bow unit? What are the advantages of having GPS on the bow? I know I want DSI and broadband sonar on the bow, just not sure I need the GPS on the bow.

Although I don't use it all the time, it is invaluable to find waypoints of submerged structure and identify underwater creek channels and points. I would not buy anything that doesn't have it. And linking them together keeps the waypoints synced.

What accessories will I need to network them together? Also, will I need two Hot Maps chips (one for each unit) in order to share way points from one unit to the other?
