Worth every penny but not on a bass boat it responds to slow.

Thank you Gene. You would know. Are we talking seconds slower than a conventional motor, or just a blink of the eye. I am considering putting it on a Crestliner runabout which I use as a bass boat. Think I would be ok? I have to find a way to control the boat in the wind. Right now I am fighting the boat more than fishing, and that is getting really old. Appreciate your advice.

Trollers with electrically driven steering are annoyingly slow, and there's a bit of added noise. I like the immediate response of cable-steered trollers.

Why are motor-driven trollers so popular on multi-species boats?

Does anyone know if the Motorguide X15 is any faster and/or quieter? I guess it will be out the first of the year. From what LITTLE I have been able to learn about it (they don't seem too proud of it - hard to get info) they will be some cheaper than the Minn Kota. Maybe someone has seen a demo???
