Spooning for bass

Post by Big Buddy »

Want to get into spooning for bass this coming year and was wondering if many of you guys do it. What spoon, color etc.... Can I catch fish on them in the spring or is it mostly a fall bait? Any help would be great. Thanks

here in the clear ozark lakes, a spoon is a staple in the tackle box. it will basically catch bass anytime of the year with the exception of spawn. i have found you need three colors of spoon - chrome, white, and chartreuse. i use both jigging and flutter spoons. both have a place and time. as mentioned there is another thread with some very good tips about spooning.
