Rio Vista - Antioch Bridge Work??

Post by Vernonn »

Does anyone know if they are still closing the bridge at Threemile Slough at nights. Trying to see if it's usable early Saturday morning.

Thanks!

Although I usually don't pass through there that early,I think the digital signs state that the project will go through mid March.Regards,Mike

We usually head to Russo's via 12-160 from Sacramento for tournaments. So knowing the bridgework schedule will be important.

We'll use I-80 - 680 to hwy 4 instead.

Thanks Mike.

Thanks Fred!

Getting too many conflicting reports:

I think we'll still go via I80-680. According to Google maps, it adds only 4 minutes to the drive versus hwys 12 - 160.

Just in case the opening is delayed, wouldn't want to be late!!

State Highway 160 Closures Cancelled Due to Wet Weather

SACRAMENTO COUNTY – Overnight closures on State Highway 160 between Rio Vista and Antioch have been canceled through Saturday morning due to the wet weather, according to the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans). The 3 Mile Slough Bridge will remain open Thursday night through Saturday morning.

The highway is scheduled to be closed daily through March from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. at Wilbur Avenue, south of the Antioch Toll Bridge, and at the junction with State Highway 12 for the $2.98 million bridge deck and control house rehabilitation project at 3 Mile Slough Bridge. Roadside message boards will be used to alert motorists of the closures and signed detours will be in place, but some motorists may need to drive as much as an additional 80 miles, or about two extra hours, to reach their destination. The schedule is subject to change due to unexpected events or weather.

Caltrans advises motorists and local residents to follow us on social media for the latest updates. For the latest highway traffic news, follow Caltrans District 3 on Twitter or like us on Facebook.

Hwy 5 also works from SAC and is the cheap way to get home avoiding the bridge toll which for a truck and dual axel boat trailer is literally highway robbery. :D

Good luck in your derby!
