Evans/Newman top WON BASS "Casitas Region" W/Video 3/29

It was business as usual for the WON BASS "Casitas Region" teams Saturday morning March 29, 2014. With 30 boat fields now commonplace for the 2014 season 31 teams shared coffee, breakfast and great fishing stories in anticipation for the fifth tournament of the season on the "Casitas Region" tour. With absolutely perfect conditions and a breathless morning the "Casitas Crew" knew that a drop shot would rule in this early part of the 2014 spawning season. And dominate it did as every single team that appeared on stage and collected their awards and cash all hail praise to the power of the drop shot plastic worm. Gathering their first victory of the 2014 season Brian Evans and Matt Newman methodically went to work and put together a 21.12 pound bag of bass and captured the victory and a stronghold on the 2014 Anger of the Year race. A drop shot plastic worm was all that was necessary as Matt and Brian calmly collected $2,150.00 in cash and their championship trophies. Not to be outdone SoCal Region superstar Billy Nelson had the weekend off and hooked up with good friend Doug Carlson and they set the all-time record for the highest amount ever collected by a second-place finisher in a WON BASS "Casitas Region" event. Bill and Doug utilized a 6 inch oxblood red flake Robo Worm in 15 to 25 feet of water and gathered an amazing $2,320.00 in cash for finishing second in a tournament with 31 teams. In third place with the team of Matt Lindsey and Paul Ramsey as they gathered another $760.00 in cash for their third place finish. Since they won our last event two weeks ago and collected $3,450.00 in cash in that tournament, Paul and Matt have won $4,210.00 in cash fishing the WON BASS "Casitas Region" teams in the last 14 days. In fourth place with the team at Eric Elshere and Larry Elshere and they collected $265 in cash for their days work. Fifth-place and another great finish was taken by Bill Griffith and his partner Chris DeMoor as they put together a 15.47 sack and collected $240 in cash. The sixth and final payroll spot was taken by western star Mike Arujo and his partner radio personality Stan Vanderburg as they gathered five bass weighing 15.02 pounds and collected $200 in cash.
