I own a bass boat and love to fish So. Cal lakes yet Casitas and now Cachuma require a quarantine (30 days?) prior to allowing me to put my boat in their waters. Out of curiosity, how do tournament fishermen skirt this quarantine process?

plain and simple, you don't skirt it! if you fish casitas you are tagged there and going no where else! Cachuma is pretty much the same deal.

So Wrknap as Eric pointed out you don't skirt the boat issue. Some of the boats used by some of these guys are not the pimped out rigs we used to have here but "spare" boats that allow them to fish here. Heck this place used to be a world class fishery. Was a time...Now we still enjoy a better quality fishery than most of SoCal but the fact that no fish over ten pounds has been weighed in this year says it all. Is it worth a 35 day quarantine? I live 3 miles down the road...I don't miss anyone  and there is plenty of room on the pond even when there's a derby on... 8)

Okay, my apologies. Skirt was probably not the best choice of words... My frustration got the best of me there. I also own a home in Ventura and used to enjoy fishing Cachuma untlil the latest regulation changes. I have been tempted to allow the quarantine so I could fish Casitas and may do so in the future.
Thanks for your responses.
