BETHEL ISLAND, Ca. - The inaugural Coors Light Delta Championship event is right around the corner as ONLY 100 teams that qualified via the 2013 Coors Light Delta Open Teams Series – presented by Angler’s Press, will converge on Sugar Barge RV Resort & Marina on Bethel Island to take part in an event that will truly feature some of the best anglers on the California Delta.
June 21-22nd is the date, and everyone that has qualified for this history making event, is anxiously waiting for their chance at the fame and glory of being crowned the first Coors Light Delta Champions.
“I fish the major events, such as FLW, and the WON Bass Opens, but I fished just about every one of the qualifying events in this series to make this event”, commented Ken Mah, a pro angler noted for his angling prowess on the California delta. This event will feature the best of the best on the delta, and I for one am looking forward to the stiff competition”, he added.
Both Ken and his partner will have their work cut for them as qualifiers for this event such as delta gurus Alan Fong, Bobby Barrack, Andy Cuccia, and Lorenzo Rosetti - just to name a few, represent just a small sampling of the outstanding anglers that have qualified for this spectacular delta showdown.
This event will be a two-day, 6-hour affair, hosted by Sugar Barge RV Resort & Marina located on Bethel Island, a 4-star RV resort and Marina where the event’s pre-meeting, launch, blast-off, weigh-in, and awards festivities will take place each day.
The unique challenge for this event, as was in the qualifying events it took to make it to the ‘big show” is that the only baits that can be used during the competition will be the Yamamoto, Snag Proof, and River2Sea products!
Senkos, twin-tail grubs, Frogs, and S-Wavers…what more do you need on the delta in the late spring!
At stake is the glory of being the first team to claim the inaugural Coors Light Delta Championship title, plus the winners will receive the keys to a new Jeep Patriot, courtesy of CABRAL Chrysler-Jeep-Dodge-Gem of Manteca, and RAM, the official truck of the Coors Light Delta Open Team Series.
Noted outdoor media/writers will be covering this event and will be on hand to capture all of the action as well as interview qualifiers, giving the west’s legion of bass angling fans, the best daily ”blow-by-blow” details available.
