hds7 gen 2 interference

Post by adamsj13 »

I have a hds7 gen 2 and a mk 101 fortrex 36v Us2. Im using the transducer built in. Im getting interference when I press the trolling motor. I also notice the interference with the structure scans. I tried to play with the sensitivity but made it worse or not picking up my weight. I tried to reset the unit back to default settings. Still showing interference. Any help yall can give me to help me with the units?

I was told the Lowrance HDS 7 is not compatible with the MK built in transducer. You have to add a puck to the tm. Per Bass Pro Shop.

IMO, it's not just the HDS 7, every HDS unit will have interference with a Fortrex trolling motor. That motor is simply not grounded very well if at all. For this reason I still run an older Maxxum Pro and soon as I find someone to buy this one, I'm going to Motorguide.
