Are all the launch ramps at nacimiento still open? Haven't been there in years thinking about taking a trip down there

Yes launch ramp is open, just make sure your boat is dry for inspection.

Are there any updated fishing reports? I've looked everywhere I know of with no luck. Planning to make the trip over after Christmas. A little vacation time well deserved... :D

+1

Lots of little fish. Shakey heads, Dart heads will get bit. For numbers fish a 2.8 keitech swimmer on a darter head. 5 lb. test.

Just another fisherman's experience recently on Lake Nacimiento. The small swimbaits mentioned above are working but not mentioned is the jig bite. I found 3/8 oz. jigs, brown and orange to be a good bet to get some of the larger spots. The size of the fish is relative and when I say larger, there are some two pounders out there but 1.3 to 1.6 pounds are the norm.

Access on the main launch ramp is real good. There is lots of water in Naci to fish. I have won tournaments on this lake when the water has been 25 feet lower than it is right now. I really like the lake at it's current level. Lots of good structure and breaks to fish. Chunk rock is a good bet and most everyone going out will be on it. The "baseball size rock" can be real good but fish the edges where the rock changes to different rock or sand and gravel. Spots like anything different.

Good luck and safe fishing.
