hds advice

Post by mikeyp »

I purchased a new to me bass boat with 2 hds 10 units that are linked and have down scan side imaging etc..the front unit when powered up says gen 2, the console unit I'm guessing is a gen 1. Also, the boat has a new fortex sonar ready trolling motor.
Problem 1: The front unit powers up, but doesn't (read anything) on the sonar. The console unit works fine for sonar but neither unit will give me a water temp..
Problem 2: When I attempt to turn on the structure scan the units say no source.
So any advice on where to start looking at how to remedy these issues would be great. I was told everything worked, but the boat had been sitting for a good 8 months prior to me purchasing it.
Thank you in advance for any advice, Mike.

There is too much to try to cover in a type written description. I would recommend going to a Lowrance dealer and getting the power cables looked at and have the menu settings set up for you.

You can also go on You Tube and ask your questions. Lowrance has lots of You Tube videos posted that will answer alot of questions. Many other individuals have posted helpful videos.

You can also go to www.lowrance.com and click on Support at the top of the page and then click on Knowledge Base and ask your questions there. There are also FAQ's there.

If the link below works, you can find a lot of helpful You Tube videos on Lowrance.

The video links were extremely helpful, thank you. Traced the issue to an incorrect adapter wire for the trolling motor and a blown fuse. Thank you
