BBT-Mother Lode Region

Post by BestBassTournaments »

This Saturday January 23rd. the Mother Lode kicks off at Lake Don Pedro. Kevin will be there starting at 4am to take sign-ups at the Trading Post. With the lake on the rise the fishing should be good. Here are a few baits to keep in mind this weekend. If your using the mapping feature on your Lowrance electronics try to find the creeks that might have running water coming into the backs of them tie on your favorite Persuader spinnerbait and fish the current coming into the lake by bouncing the bottom with it. Also try to fill out your limit by drop shotting a Berkley Havoc Bottom Hopper or a PowerBait Pro Twitch Tail Minnow along a point and both sides of it. Also another bait that could help is with the Berklay Havoc Beat Shad on a underspin head and slow roll it also along points and secondary points.

Great report and update. This ought to be a nice event with the fresh water in the lake, if nothing else take a moment to float around and enjoy the fact that we're FINALLY getting some much needed water!
You are going to have to take a number at the creek mouths though with those awesome tips!

I heard the lake is coming up between 6 to 12" per day. Could be a great bite!
There are always new places to go fishing. For any fisherman, there's always a new place, always a new horizon.
