Rod handle slips?

Post by Morgan »

I have a rod that has the black foam for a handle. It has started to slip on the blank and rotate. I really notice it when winding in a fish. Is there an easy fix?

The arrow shows where it is loose. From there to the rear twists.

Thanks

Looks like you could try a CA glue like (zap a gap) or you could over wrap the handle with the grip savers from Accu Cull. I don't know if you can wrap it then cut out around the reel seat but you could try. Both available at Dans Delta in oakley pending your location.

Is this a $50 rod or a $150 rod?? permanent fix would be 4 holes around the foam at 1/2 way point.. then insert hypo needle with premixed epoxy.. fill holes with silicone and use a over wrap like X-wrap or what ever you like.. all depends on how much the rod is worth.. good luck--ezhoe
