Can I edit waypoints on computer?

After a day on the water, I would like to enhance my waypoints with additional information. I know how to edit the waypoint directly on my HDS Gen 3, but would I would like to do is to either a) wirelessly connect to the Gen 3 but edit from my ipad or macbook (unlikely) or b) remove the SD card from Gen 3, put it in my computer, edit, then replace it in the Gen 3.

I think (b) should be doable but I've come up empty in my searches. I know I can upload and download files so I'm thinking I should be able to "upload" waypoints, then edit, the "download" back to the card. I use the Navionics card in my unit.

Anyone have this process down?

It is free but not sure it is available for ios.
