Problem with talon mounting bracket

Post by Lodi bass »

Has anyone had or heard problems with the talon mounting bracket?
Mine will not fit togather. The arm will not slide on to the elbow (part that goes between the transom and motor ) the spline on the elbow is to large. The flag (part that the talon bolts to) easily slides on to both sides of the arm.
Is there a bad batch of parts out there and I just spent a couple hours attaching one to my boat??

Thanks for the reply. I got it taken care of, something in the manufacturing of the part was off.

Lodi Bass, I had/have the same problem! Mine would not fit together until I literally used a 7lb maw to pound them together. Problem is that I was in a hurry to get my Talons on and could not wait to send them back. I'm going to reach out to who I ordered them from but would love to here what you were told and how you got it resolved.

I put a couple of Talons on my Skeeter aluminum 2 years ago and had no problem installing them.

I beat on it with a big hammer too...lol and only got it on a inch and a half. Then the next morning I called minnkota customer service, all taken care off.
