Camp Far West

Post by Fly'in V »

OK Nutcases, Need your help,

I have a cousin that wants to fish CFW, but I have never fished that lake EVER!
What's the favorite color the throw?
Should I throw a spinner bait?
Should I get Jiggy with it?
Can someone give me some info, throw me a fricken' bone man?

I mean please?

When are you going? For me it fishes tough after a heavy rain. If the water is not terribly stained I do OK on Hula Grubs and drop shot early in the year. I know others do well on Spinnerbaits.

When are you planning on fishing it? As previous post stated, it does fish tough when muddy. Favorite go to bait for me is a BPS Avocado Tender Tube on a 1/4 oz jig head. Jigs also work as do spinnerbaits, cranks and chatter baits once the fish move up into the top 15 feet. Once spring comes around a Senko does well. It is a fun lake to fish 8-9 months out of the year, during the summer months the hot boats and jet skis take over. Give me a call if you want Vic Five30-Two18-Zero641

There are some nice spots and the occasional largemouth there, as well as crappies. From late December last year
