Will Rod prices go up

Post by Rod Martin »

With the war on imports (possible Chinese Tariffs ) Will Rod prices be going up ?

What about other products made in China ?

Should a person be. thinking about buying now rather than later?

Thanks

Its very simple the rod manufactures that are based here but have china building there products want to avoid tariffs then build them here in the us it also the same with round rubber material and silicone material these company are based here in the us that sale there products but choose too make them over seas should be subject to the tariffs. There nothing worng with building plants here in the us and putting american worker to work. Cant be much easier than that.

Not all rods are made in China !
Find an American rod maker if you want to avoid tariff consequences.
Higher end St Croix bass rods (Legend, Extreme) are made in Wisconsin
Lower end St Croix are assembled in Mexico (Mojo Bass)
Components.... guides, grips are mostly fuji from Japan.

I have about 12 Legend Tournaments and 4 Mojo Bass.
Never had one break, and when I step on one and break a guide, they repair for $15 (shipping from wisconsin)
