I would not use braid for this application and here is why. Braid floats, as the post describes but MORE importantly is the lack of transmission on a slack line. Braid is great for a lot of things but for fishing a falling bait that is fished primarily on a slack line I would stay away from braid. Briad is NO good for being around rocks it frays way to easily so therefore you go to a leader and where I fish my dartheads I lose way to many of them and would have to retie that leader a few times throughout the day. I have stayed with Flurocarbon line on my dart head rods for the reasons stated above.

May I ask Why are you looking to fish a braid application for dart heads?

I would recommend using braid for a DH, Drop shot, Ned rig, Senko, or pretty much anything for bass fishing. Sinking or floating if light enough it does not matter. Use a good 10 to 12 foot of fluoro and you are good to go and you save a ton on line cost as the braid will last for a very long time. I used to use Power pro slick in 10# and still do but about 2 years ago I started using 4# crystal for Shad fishing and decided that I was going to go ahead and use it for bass. The problem with the 4# is the uni or albright knot would not work as the knot was really hard to tie. The 4# is so thin that it would cut the Fluoro. So I went to 6 and 8# crystal with 6 to 8# fluoro. These diameters of line seem to work well together and if tied right you will feel like you have 10# test on there when you try to break a snag off. I will admit this method is not for everyone and if you are going to go this light you need to know your line breaking strength and be good at and practice tying knots. The albright is the best knot but you will have to add extra wraps to make it work for this light of line. This technique will definitely get you bigger fish. Not to mention when your lure gets stuck you can snap it off the rocks and you can feel everything with this set up. Much more than straight fluoro.
