An event for a fallen hero - this Saturday at Tower Park

On Sept 17, 2018, Sacramento County Deputy Sheriff Mark Stasyuk lost his life in the line of duty while on a call for service in the city of Rancho Cordova.

Only 27 years old, Mark was a dedicated servant of the community, a loving husband, and absolutely loved spending his days off fishing. He was known to always comment on how much he loved being a deputy, and how "integrity" was everything to him.

In memory of Mark, the Sacrameto County Sheriff department - in conjuction with Angler's Press Outdoors, Lasher of Elk Grove, and Gone Fishin Marine of Dixion, will be hosting a memorial tournament at Tower Park Marina this Saturday June 15th, that will not only feature a fun multi-species fishing competition, but will also have something for the entire family to enjoy such as:

- Delicious BBQ
- Big Raffle
- Swimming
- Kid's activity zone
- Bumper-raft competitions
- Boat demo rides

Plus tons of other activities for families to enjoy at the Jellystone Park Resort located within the Tower Park property.

All proceeds from this event will benefit the STAR 6 Foundation's Mark stasyuk Memorial Scholarship Fund to help recruits in the Sac County Sheriff's Academy (Tax ID# 20-32550).
