From my understanding, the 2001 Yamahas did not have hour tracking. Still, I just fish a bit in the Spring and again in the Fall. I'd bet that the most I've ever fished in a year was 15 days, in the past dozen years, and less than that in many of those years. So... not a ton of time on the motor.
