Stockton Record Reporting Bubbler system up and running in Deep Water Channel

The bubbler system in the Stockton Deep Water Channel has been fixed.

Silt and sediment collected over time created mechanical problems with the system installed in 2006 by the city of Stockton’s Municipal Utilities Department to help address color and odor problems in the channel.

The system, which works in conjunction with a terrace water feature just west of the Hotel Stockton, ceased working last month. The bubbler helps aerate the water through nine rows of underwater pipes from McLeod Lake to the Interstate 5 overpass.
