all electric Bass Boat

Post by Rod Martin »

Are any of the boat manufacturers working on an all electric Bass Boat yet. With Electric Pickups, cars , commercial trucks being developed how long will it be before it starts moving down to boats.

Just wondering what would happen to the old boats , would they be phased out like commercial trucks were?

California will be the first to do it when it happens. I know Calif. went with new regulations on commercial trucks and it really hurt us as a trucking company. Having to move into new carb compliant trucks with a deadline and not able to sale our older trucks in Calif .
I was being serious in asking I have not heard of it but would assume if the motor companies went with an electric motors boats would have to change to accommodate the bulk and weight of extra batteries.

Just wondering must not be on the horizon or someone on here would have heard.

Thanks

I’m pretty sure I read about Troy litner running an all electric boat and motor in a tournament/TOC last year in so cal? I don’t think it was solar powered though,

I may be mistaken but pretty sure there already out there. And yes California air resource board sucks! We’ll all be in kayaks soon, lol.
