Reel
I am going to get a Dobyns Sierra 703sf and 704sf and none of my local dealers within 10 miles carry dobyns so I was wondering what reel I should pair them with. The most I’m spending on the reel will be 150. I was looking at the diawa bg 3000 for the 704sf and the Shimano Sahara fi 3000 for the 703sf. Any help is appreciated.

Re: Reel
I had the BG but wasn't a big fan of the weight so I opted for a Shimano Ultegra and it has been an awesome reel paired with my Dobyns rods. It can be had for just under your $150 budget on Amazon.
Re: Reel
Check out the Revo S Spinning Reel this should balance well with your new rod and with the Carbon Matrix frame.

Re: Reel
Dobyns rods are designed to be reel weight nuetral. Rods with the pivot point centered to the reel seat the reel weight doesn't change balance.
Reel size should be selected for the line you plan to use. Braid doesn't have memory issues, mono and FC does. Larger spool diameter help to reduce memory issues, line capacity for bass fishing isn't a primary factor IMO.
There isn't a standard spinning reel size, however most 2500 and 3000 spools are the same diameter, the 3000 being deeper for more line capacity.
Shimano spinning reels are very reliable followed by Diawa, both have good customer service and parts support. Shimano Stratic is on sale @ TW.

Re: Reel
Might as well spend the extra and get the Shimano ci4+ 3000, get a champion xp 703sf and just some 20 pound braid. Thanks for all your help!
