Telescoping Landing Net - Recommendations?

Post by Drakestar »

After the recent rain a reservoir I'm shore-fishing has a far-out line of tules/downed trees/thriftwood, and I'm thinking about taking a landing net to ease catches across that line. Any recommendations? Needs to land bass only, ideally reaches at least 6 feet, and is easy to carry around (so collapsing or telescoping would be best). Vinyl netting to keep the hooks from getting stuck would be a plus.

Thanks for the suggestions! The Ranger FN telescoping and folding net looks like my preferred candidate so far: https://rangernets.com/folding-net/

I'm a TW junkie (I hope my wife doesn't look too deeply where all these free t-shirts came from), but I don't see the model in their lineup. Might need to find it somewhere else.

Take a look at EGO S2 slider nets. They have a model that extends to 108", keep in mind you have no leverage to lift a long net one handed.

I hooked into the biggest bass of my life today.
It was at the lake that triggered this post.
I didn't have my landing net yet.
I lost her in the tules, 4 feet from shore.
(I should have waded into the water, but didn't because I was on my lunch break. Should have waded in anyway!)

Gah! I'm ordering a net RIGHT NOW! :|
