Buying a USED Navionics Card for HDS Live

Post by AWC360 »

I'm heading out to Guntersville in a few weeks and that's the only reason I would buy a Hotmaps Platinum SOUTH Navionics card. I've found a few on ebay and online that are used, what problems might I run into by using a used card, or will this be fine?

Thanks in advance.

Hi there, the only issue with buying a used Navionics card is you can’t tell how old it is by looking at it. In saying this you don’t know when it was updated last and if the card is over a year old it will cost you $99 to update the used card so be aware that by the time you buy it then Update it you will most likely be spending more money than you would if you bought one brand new for $199....An Guntersville is a very popular lake so there is a lot of Updating that goes on there so it’s definitely worth having an Updated card...

Good points Travis. Like he said if the card is too old, it may also be a smaller card that doesn't have the capacity for all of the data that is out now.
