A million dollars to whoever can find this worm!

Post by StrictlyBiznuss »

Ok, well, not really, but seriously, I need this worm! :-) So many things and people have changed since I used to post on this website, so I'm not sure who all remembers me or remembers what I'm going to talk about, but we'll see.

Several years ago I fished in the Rally @ Clear Lake. That particular year there were two prizes for anglers under the age of 18. One was for the kid who finished the highest, and the other for the kid who caught the biggest bass. Well, I caught a 7lber and got the prize for the biggest bass. The prize was a tackle pack of soft plastic lures from a company called ReAction Lures (not to be confused with Reaction Innovations). Well, since then, I've used up the majority of the baits from that, but there was a worm in there called the Toledo Tickler. I've looked high and low for where to find them, but the best I can gather is that the company that made them no longer exists! I really need to try and figure out where to get them because I have a night fishing tournament coming up this weekend, and the big bass have completely killed the two ticklers that I had left! So yeah, if anyone has any idea where I could find them or knows of any companies that make a similar worm, let me know!

what I could suggest on trying to find a worm from a company that might no longer be in existence is to look at Lure Craft or other companies that sell the components to make your own baits. if you have the picture of the worm you might be able to find the mold. Then you can pour the worms that you love so much.

like elfish already said, can you post a picture?

If memory serves me correctly (often times it doesn't :) ... the tickler was made by Toledo tackle and was ribbon tail on the bottom and ribbed at the top. Does that sound right????

If so, shoot me a PM.

These wouldn't happen to be a ribbed worm with a curl tail, black in color with like a neon yellow core mixed in with the black... would they????

Keep one of your last worms and bring it to a hand pourer. The better guys can duplicate the worm for you in short order.

Yes, they are about an 8" ribbed worm with a curl tail. They came in several various colors though. Never saw a black with neon yellow core though?

The ringer worm looks similar, but the ribs just don't look like they stick out far enough for my liking to move enough water. Also looks like it's got too much of a ribbon tail as opposed to more of a fat curl tail type. Close though...

Called Toledo Town & Tackle and the woman I talked to said they are more than likely out of production, but said she'd have someone give me a call tomorrow to confirm. I've got one worm left, so I think I'm going to try and make my own...we'll see how that works out...

Try asking your question here. Lots of good info on this site about soft plastic baits.

Looks like I gave them all away. I had a box of their okd baits, but all I have left is Gator Dogs. It was worth checking though. You may try the 7" zipper worm as it has some of the same properties.

Don Iovino makes an 8" ribbed curl tail that is a fat body style.
Roboworms also has an 8" Zipper with curl tail.
