Bluegill fishing on Delta

Post by monte300 »

I want to take my four year old grandson fishing for the first time this summer on a weekday. I assume bait under a bobber on a weedbed is a decent choice. Can anyone tell me the best months and preferred tides for this sort of action? Thanks in advance.

I do the same with the kids
I found high tide on the rocks. Just a foot or less from the shore. They get right up close and tight
Red worms. Size 12 or 10 hook
Small bobber Bait 12 inches or so below depending on water depth

The key for me is high tide on the rocks. Works every time. You might catch 50 in an hour
Some small. From about the size of a 50 cent coin (remember those?) to size of you hand in lucky.
Now I know guys who catch em bigger around Weeds and tullies but I don’t think they catch nearly as many
