Best Sunglasses for Fishing.

Post by Fly'in V »

So the time has come.
My 23 year old SolarBats have de-laminated, but man, they have been great.

Now I need a prescription all the time, my uBer cool Maui-Jims sunglasses just don't work anymore. I might look like a cool Grandpa, but everything else is fuzzy.

So if you were going to pay top dollar for prescription sunglasses, primarily for Fishing and Driving. (Sac/Roseville area)

What would you bunch of Bass Nerds suggest?
(yes, they will be bi-focal)

I just went to my personal optometrist and had a new pair of prescription polarized sunglasses made. It costs me about $200, but I got the frame and tint that I wanted.

For prescription sunglasses, I like to use my personal optometrist because I can go back to him if I have a problem. I've been doing it for years because my focal point is a little different than most people and my optometrist knows it.

I belong to the UCFW8 union and used the union optometrist in Roseville. Since I've worked for Safeway for almost 15 years, the union covers most of the costs for 1 pair of glasses. In the past, the prescription sunglasses would have costs me less than $25. However, this time, I had two pair of prescriptions glasses made so I had to pay for the sunglasses.

i have been very happy with my Wiley X prescription sunglasses. They were about half of what Costa's would have cost me. I ordered mine through Coyote Point Armory.

I got old and now my wiley x need to be replaced only because I wore out not them. I love the inserts that block light. Best fishing glasses I've had and I've had Costa's that cost 3x. A new pair on the way as I sit here typing.
