Lowrance Ghost remote for Launch

Post by fishinfool145 »

I just installed a new Ghost on my boat. I haven't even got it wet yet.

I often fish alone. I was looking at the remote for the ghost and was wondering if it might be helpful for launch and recovery of the boat at the ramp. The docks at the ramps on my lakes are very small.

I was thinking of instead of tying up to the dock, use the remote to drive the boat 30-40 ft away from the dock, set the "anchor", park the truck then come back and use the remote to drive the boat back to the dock.

My biggest concern, being Bluetooth, I would feel lucky if I got reliable range of 100ft.

Is anyone using their Ghost Remote this way? I'm interest in your experiences.

Other than this I can't see a good justification for a $300 remote.

Thx

I think I would contact Lowrance and ask them, since they know their product best.

I use the remote all the time with my Ultex while launching. It came with the motor. Also it works well if you have little kids. You can kick back and run the motor while they fish in the front.

Yes you could use it for this feature but you would need to make sure you are in the correct mode before departing your boat to park your truck.

Also where are they charing $300 for the remote. It's $100

Thanks for the feed back. Rod, not sure why I was thinking it was 300. For $100 it's probably worth getting for the other capabilities
