Upgrading Trolling Motor--Fortrex to Ghost (need advice)

Post by HappyDogBassFishing »

I need a little help. I am upgrading my trolling motor from a Fortrex to a Ghost. Will the pedal tray used for the Fortrex be big enough for the Ghost's pedal. Or do I need a new tray?

Thanks in advance.

I went from Fortrex to Ghost and the OEM pedal from Triton fit both. Even got most of the screw holes to line up.

Yes it works fine, I did the same thing this spring. The only issue you may have is the depth of your tray. The ghost pedal sits lower, you may or may not have to shim the pedal to get the pad above flush to so you don't have to use the toe of your foot for anchor mode or marking waypoints. I ended up having to use some rubber standoffs you can get at any hardware store to adjust the height of mine.

Thank you NoCAL and woodistic. Very helpful replies. I bought a bigger tray just in case. I am looking forward to the upgrade for sure.

Tight lines and some good karma to you from me and Riley.

The Ghost has been installed. To answer my own question, now that the deed is done: the Ghost foot pedal is a couple cm narrower and it has a lower profile than the Fortrex foot pedal. Love the Ghost so far. Lots of cool well-thought out features and feels solid as a rock.

Thanks for all the help.

Have a Merry Christmas everyone.
