1800bassboat did me right. Haven’t had to make a claim but it was a lower premium than my previous more
commercial brand company with better coverage.

I've had good experiences with Skisafe, which I got through Geico. Stood by me when I've had claims.

Boat Insurance

There are only two that I would consider 1800 bass boats and Ben Green Insurance https://www.bengreenins.com/HOME Ben Green actively supports the fishing community and offers full coverage, auto, home, boat and much more. As you shop around, I would encourage you to call Ben Green to review your policies and provide you with an honest assessment. Great guy.

Ben Green won't insure a boat older than 10 yrs !!! He wouldn't even answer an e-mail asking who he would recommend !!!

That's good to know for those of us with older boats. If one with say a five year old boat gets insurance from Ben does he or she have to find new insurance after the boat turns 10 years old?

This is incorrect!
I have a 2008 Ranger Z-21 and I have insurance with Ben Green.
I also have my Home, Auto's and RV insured with him.
If you purchase as a package he will cover your boat.

I don't believe that is the case. Again I would recommend reaching out to Ben Green Insurance and speaking to them yourself. If Ben is out fishing, I know Joseph has always been responsive to my calls and messages. My experience with that team has been nothing but positive even if that means pointing me to coverage that better suits my needs.

Hey all,

Mitch sorry I didn't answer an email. If you know me you would know that I help anyone and everyone I can.
We have 3200 customers in 23 states. You get the luxury of accusing me of neglect on a forum. I hope you found a solution.

Second. We insure 2017 and newer boats for new business only. This is because there are 3 of us. We dedicate our time 100 percent to serving our customers. We are open 24/7 for them. They are our priority. We will not cancel someone with an older boat. We are not a big company. I personally purchased lower units and other components so that my customers did not have the wait time during the economic downturn. We also contact the shop, the shop owner and the technician when you have a claim to be certain our customer's do not lose their place in line. The shop also knows it will be paid. We are a FULL service agency. If we do not have the home and auto business as well as the bass boat we will not be able to afford to stay in business.

Third, Last year I personally contributed $30,000 to the fishing communities in which we do business. This is because the anglers who support me are my lifeblood. These are anglers like Tony Mello, Ash, Bill Roberts, Monte300 and thousands of others who build up the fishing community by supporting each other.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart! You all know who you are! - Ben

I am a customer of Ben Green and can say he has always returned calls or emails even on questions that had nothing to do with selling me a policy and this has been the case during covid times which seems like customer service most places has taken a dive. I appreciate that Ben Green will tell me "you don't need this or you do need that", not just selling me everything he could.

Yeah, only supports fisherman with boats 3 years or less.
-I was shock too and didn't even receive a quote.
Unless something change, Ben Green Insurance wasn't interested in insuring a 2016, Z520C Ranger/trailer.

USAA through Progressive covered new bass boat and 20 year old ski boat. Excellent coverage and price. Only question was will the bass boat go faster the 95 MPH

Ben Green wasn’t interested in insuring my 2012 Ranger Z521 however they were very helpful and referred me to Travelers insurance because they also cover mechanical issues on older boats.

Thank you Ash! We will not kick people out based on age of boat. We are not for everyone on new business. 2017 and newer for the boat. We insure all lines for anglers. Home, Auto and Small Business. Bass boats are loss sensitive (lots of claims) and the premium is generally low. I have expenses as well. As some may know, we can spend days finding an OEM for an older boat and then getting it expedited. We pay that added expense and not the carrier. We can't do that for every older boat claim and it was only fair to get off of them for new business.

Although I don't use Ben Green, I use a friend of mine who has been my broker for years through Farmers.... I did find the video he did with Tactical Bassin VERY helpful.... if I ever do switch brokers he will be my first call.
