Shasta Lake is not at historical lows as the media portrays. The picture at the top was taken September 24,2015. The two pictures below were taken September 24,2022. As you can see we are considerably higher this year. We are also 30 feet higher than this time last year.

We have to question everything. This spring (wish I had exact dates) CDEC showed Shasta going down a few inches each day. One week the purple lupine was down to the water's edge. Fishing the same spot a week later the lupine was under 6 to 10 inches of water. The water came up but never shown on the CDEC website.

One day the input to Shasta showed a negative number. I called the good folks at CDEC to find out how the numbers were generated. The person I talked to said the farming above Shasta was taking water before the lake.

Everyone has an agenda.

I always like to use this site when comparing lake levels from year-to-year. I do wish it went back 20+ years with the data though....

Maybe not historically low, but when ALL Nor-Cal and Central Valley lakes are off limits to big boats, 5mph speed limits are in place, or barely launchable, that's a problem that will take years to recover. This is bigger than blaming "Climate change". Just my opinion.
