NEW Invasive Species Cert for Delta Tournament

Post by WB Staff »

From Hook, LIne and Sinker / Russos

ATTENTION PARTICIPATING ANGLERS:
This year we have some updates regarding our tournament series. >>>>>>>> 1. The registration forms have been updated. Please fill them out LEGIBLY.
2. You are now required to complete a self-inspection aquatic invasive species certification prior to EACH tournament you fish. One inspection does NOT cover all tournaments. Once completed you will need to snap a photo of it so that if you are stopped by Fish & Wildlife you can show proof of completion. The hard copy will need to be turned back in with your completed registration form.
3. The rules have been updated and are put in place for a reason. Read them, keep them, adhere to them. There will be a copy included with your registration packet at each tournament.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
In summary, you will receive 3 pieces of paper at registration. The registration form, aquatic invasive species form, and the rules. The registration form & aquatic invasive species form will be turned back in to the tournament director, you will keep the third paper, which are the rules.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
If you have any questions please contact the shop at 925.625.2441, thank you and we look forward to another tournament season.

I mean do the container ships that are coming into the port(s) and up and down the river need to perform a self assessment muscle inspection as well? These invavisesliterally come in off of these ships not on bass boats.

Also too, what is the over / under until they start charging for stickers? who will need one everyone who comes under the Golden Gate and beyond or are we going to follow the head waters and every lake and river in between? Cant afford to clog up those new tunnels you know and someone will need to pay for them

The State will eventually find a way to collect a fee with this form.

Thank you to the Hook circuit for bringing this up.
I was at the CDFW Permit Jamboree last Friday when this new process was discussed by CDFW.

This is not just a Delta requirement.
This new Form 777 sign-off is applicable for every Tournament that is pulling a Type A, B, C or D Permit.
That is every Tournament.
Every Body of Water.

What a joke. Like they have staff to deal with thousands of these forms? Then what harassment will you start getting from law enforcement. Yet more nonsensical crap from the state.

If this only applies to tournament anglers, and not the other boaters in this state, I would be very weary about this.

The State is not collecting the forms. The "contest organizer" is responsible to collect the forms, and confirm all participants in their event has completed the form. If one is "pulled-over" on the water by CFW Warden, and you don't have the form, the "contest organizer" will be cited ..... in addition to the boater. FYI: "Local Law Enforcement" has nothing to do with the requirement ...... enforced by only CFW.

Even more ridiculous and onerous. These people are focusing on the wrong crowd. The department is run by morons.
