Forrest didn't get a deer and I didn't win Nor Cal

Post by Fast Eddie »

So as you can tell by the subject, Forrest decided to go bow hunting in the Burney area. As far as I know he blanked, but that left me by myself to fish the Nor Cal bass event out of Ladds on Sat. I was boat 10, however was I surprised at how fast the Ranger was without Ric. I passed several boats, and got to my spot. Fish bit right away, but I only managed 3 for 5 something. Congratulations to Mark and Juan on the win.
But the real subject matter here was on my return to weighin, traveling down the river, a gentleman in a champion was all over the channel. Cutting corners, heading to channel markers and essentially squeezing me out. As we approached a slower boat, (I was in the boats churned up water) I began top move to the left to pass when I notice this champion who was about 50 yds away as I approached the slower boat was easing his way over until he was about 10 yds from me and still coming. This manuver was pushing me into the boat I was passing. I saw his partner looking at me with eyes wide open, as I backed off to avoid a collision, but I was already in the wake from the passed boat, as he went by causing a merging of both wakes. Yikes! So all was safe. I stayed away from this guy backing off to safety, all the way back to Ladds. This brings to mind a question for y'all. Apparently California requires a boater license. My understanding was that all ages were to have their license by now except for those seniors who have until next year to obtain a license. So 2 questions

1.How many of y'all have there current boaters license?
2. How many are planning to get one?
3. Who will be enforcing this law?

Ya I know, that's 3 questions, but I've been taking calendar readings from Forrest.

I have mine but my work required it, and My understanding on it when talking to a couple on the water sheriff's is that it wont be enforced unless pulled over for another subsequent reason.

Caleb, any idea what the fine is for not obeying the new law?

Every tournament trail I’ve fished states in the rules violation of any local, state, or federal law is grounds for disqualification. Don’t want to take a chance so I got my card.
