Wanna run south on Old River...

Totally navigable. I run it all the time, but there are a lot of hazards, you just have to be careful. If you're not familiar with running the river, be extra careful. There are sandbars and hazards hidden under the water. Low tide you see more and high tide you can be over confident. Lots of guys have lost lower units there. It has taken a pounding the last few years, so fishing can be really tricky, be careful and good luck on there.

An aluminum is best best suited for that area
It’s not safe to run. I would not go there without someone who knows it a couple times
I never run more than just fast enough to be on plane and idle past many areas
With that keep in mind I have been going there for 25 years and still bump into hazards on occasion
If you like a nice nick and scratch feee boat it’s not a place to go

If you do that you will be fine.
If you go on the wrong side of one of many islands you will run into sandbars
Just be cautious until you know it

I always try to run new water on a low tide with good visibility. I have only been past rivers end a handful of times like said above - low n slow or draft safely behind someone who knows the river. The same is true when running around liberty and up north - ya gotta know your skinny water hazards and realize that its slightly changing overtime.

I agree with all, but what i would (and have
) do is drop a bunch of way points and create short routes around the hazards during low tide. Check once a year for shifting bars and tree limbs. I was down there Sat with Flake and watched a Nitro run the wrong side of an island. Lucky for him it was high tide otherwise he'd still be stuck cause he was on pad.
