Candidate speeches that appeal to the most voters end in a win for the candidate that speaks to their concerns and their prejudices/bias. Not all are bad nor unrealistic though many are not realistic or good for the average citizen or nation at large. As I've been saying over and over:
DETAILS MATTER - ALWAYS!!!
examples:
MAGA movement: too vague and lacking details how to accomplish that acceptable to the majority. But, here are what MAGA and some supporters believe what it takes to accomplish it:

Okay, great, but Trump has added some idiotic grandstand moves NOT acceptable to the majority such as bomb the **** out of boats, killing everyone on board without proof of who they are, what is on board or where their destinations are. Murder is murder for want of a justification. It seems to many justified in a kind of strike-first paranoid sort of way, international law be damned!
Granted, it stimulates the imagination of Trump supporters that believe it's a least something that's being done - unlike the pathetic Biden administration that sat on it laurels for four years.
But something is not anything unless true results justified the means - not claims of unquestionable success. Unquestionable is a Trump trademark that defies giving explanations or justifications to many of his actions. MY WAY OF THE HIGHWAY and anyone who doesn't go along, is NOT a true American - and such b.s. (Funny though, how many cheer that sentiment which brings me to the post's title:
Many MAGATs truly believe that what is necessary to MAGA is a show of presidential strength and domination over the other party - #1; and that his rhetoric, no matter how dumb, is at least something vs nothing - that something actually being nothing in the long run.

2. Immigration: the sentiment is that ALL illegals are murderers, drug trafficer and rapists - to quote the fear mongerer-in-chief. As usual, his generalizations, misinformation and lies may be what his supporters want to hear based on what they truly believed before it was even said, but as usually there's usually more to the story.
Truth: Most illegals are not those three things - not by a long shot! One size does NOT fit all! tHE Majority are simply hardworking people that want to feed their families, provide safety and and take them away for whatever they needed to escape from to accomplish that.
BUT NO, they are brown and crossed the border illegally and are therefore murderers, drug trafficer and rapists as well as those getting illegal benfits, not paying taxes and other vague accusations. Again, MAGATs believed that before T took office and cheer when they are carted away in chains and deported to who knows where or doing who knows what once they get there. (For all we know, human/child trafficking may be a part of those deportations. We'll never know.)
Prejudice is nice IF it doesn't hit home. My grandparents were immigrants and treated like scum along with other immigrants from other countries. There were neighborhoods that many were forced to live in apart from the established usually white anglo majority. But even after they became good Americans, did they partake in prejudice or hate for others based on misplaced beliefs and paranoia. Trump is a master at championing hate and paranoia - big reasons his base supports him and his like- without question. It's what they've always believed simple as that.

So, if you can't change some of the people some of the time, you can only hope that most of the people have either learned from their mistakes or found confirmation that their predictions and suspicions were found to be true based on the truth.

First off - no proof has been forthcoming that any speed boat is transporting drugs. For that matter, the military should blast any boat going over a certain speed! Grandstanding Trump has convinced his followers that any assertion he makes must be true regardless of the absence of facts.
The sad fact is that the FBI has taken this long to release Epstein files that would show many important figures involved with child prostitution - Trump a key suspect. Trump needs to protect his rich supporter pervs or go down with them. The GOP is gradually loosening his grip on them and step by step is allowing the opening of more documents, all for re-election purposes, not what's right.

When it comes to blowing boats out of the water, what happened to innocent until proven guilty? It's more like, guilty and that's it! In every state and municipality, there are statutes that try to convince an armed suspect of holding a weapon to surrender. Even enemy soldiers are given the choice to surrender. Police are not instructed to shoot first and hide the body later as in the case of suspects suspected of transporting drugs. Murder - plain and simple!

Actually, sometimes I do and catch many nice bass and pike. But I'd rather be versatile and catch most fish species many different ways on many different lures - many I make or modify.
