So far the Verona area seems to be the best bet. The Sac metro area should pick up in a few weeks. I'll keep you informed as it gets better.

Gator,

My dad and I head to the Sacramento River during late Sept/Oct
every year.
We have caught some of our best fish during this time of year 30lbs on up . Discovery Park is a great place to find some good salmon fishing. Some of the areas we fish are usually near bridges. We anchor our boat and drop the line in the water
and relax.

Set-up

Lure: K15 kwickfish silver/chart
Weight: 1oz cannonball weight
Leader: 2' to 3' ,both weight and lure attached to a spreader rig.
Line: 30 to 40lb test
I use my bass flipping sticks and they seem to work great.

Hope this helps,

Gator,

When your ready to catch a Salmon you have my number, I would be more than happy to take you on the American River and show you how it is done. A buddy and I just had a great day last week.
