Phoenix Area Lakes

Post by whazup »

I hope to retire soon to the Phoenix/Mesa area. Can someone give me a report on area lakes? Roosevelt, Pleasant, Saguaro etc. Thanks

There are some nice lakes out here. The fishing is a bit different though. Lots more rats and lots less 4 pounders

Thanks. I have visited that website several times but was hoping to hear from someone who has actually fished these lakes. I see a lot of bass boats when I visit the area so I know someone is fishing somewhere.

I have been to most of the Az. lakes and the 2 best are Bartlett and Roosevelt. A close second is Alamo. Pleasant has at least 1 tournament every weekend. Canyon has no tournaments and can be good for big fish on the swimbait in the winter. Sauguaro is good also but not like it was because of the fish die off. Apache forget it. Huge fish die off because of Golden Algae. It was a premier smallie lake but not anymore. Pleasant can be good but it is highly pressured but still has a lot of big fish. If you want more info let me know.
